One of the Physiotherapy Lecturers, Dr. Andi Rizky Arbaim Hasyar, S.Ft., Physio took part in the International Congress organized by the Japanese Society of Physical Therapy for Diabetes Mellitus (JSPTDM) with the theme “Physical Activity and Enhanced Guidance for Patients with Diabetes, Dialysis, or Those with Lifestyle-Related Diseases ” on Saturday (16/09) via Zoom Meeting. The number of participants who registered for the Congress was 361 people and 445 people participated on-demand via Zoom.

In the beginning, Physio Arbaim (his nickname) received a recommendation from WD 1 of the Faculty of Nursing to take part in the congress, where his research while pursuing doctoral education (S3) was related to the effectiveness of the application of hydrotherapy in the form of immersing the limbs in CO2-Rich Water to improve peripheral blood flow. in Hemodialysis patients at Unhas Hospital. This research is a form of collaborative research between Unhas and Kaikoukai, Japan in 2019. In connection with this, Physio Arbaim also prepared material from the results of his research in the form of PPT.

During the interview, Physio Arbaim said that by participating in this activity it was hoped that he could support the development of science and technology in the health sector, especially cardiovascular physiotherapy in Indonesia. “The aim of participating in this activity is to fulfill the invitation as a speaker by Kaikoukai and then establish international collaboration for the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University. “Not only that, it is hoped that in the future physiotherapist clinicians will also be given the space/opportunity to play a role in the rehabilitation of hemodialysis patients in hospitals, as is the case in Japan and other countries.” Explained Physio Arbaim
