
The Unhas Faculty of Nursing held a formal meeting at Tsuruma Campus Kanazawa University, Japan. The meeting was attended by (Prof. Mayumi Kato, RN, Ph.D) Head of International Program for Nursing, (Miho Shogenji, RN, Ph.D) Associate professor at Nursing Gerontology and Rehabilitation Lab Kanazwa University, on Friday (24 /11).
Also present were the Dean of F.Kep Unhas (Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si), (Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D) Head of the International Affairs Office , (Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., Ph.D) Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs F.Kep Unhas.

At this meeting, an agreement was discussed that there would be a student exchange for 2 students from the Faculty of Nursing, Unhas for 2 weeks to Kanazawa University and 2 students from Kanazwa University to the Faculty of Nursing, Unhas, in early 2025. Another agreed collaboration is the continuation of online lecturer exchange activities which will take place in December 2023, and 3 Kanazawa lecturers will deliver lectures in the fields of Wound Care, Child Nursing and Community Nursing online and offline in 2024.
Then in terms of research collaboration, it was agreed that joint research would begin in 2024 between Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D and Miho Shogenji, RN, Ph.D from Kanazawa University. Apart from that, a meeting was also held between the research team resulting from the joint research collaboration between Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D and Prof. Akiko Tsuda and Dr. Ruka Saito Kanazawa University, both of which agreed to continue research collaboration in 2024.

During his visit to Kanazawa University, one of the lecturers at the Faculty of Nursing, Unhas; Syahrul Said, Ph.D gave a lecture to undergraduate and graduate students on the topic of Parental Influence on Children’s Eating Behavior. This topic is part of the joint research output that has been carried out this year and this activity is part of the agreed exchange of Nursing Faculty Lecturers.
As Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Unhas, Prof. Ariyanti “hopes that this collaboration can continue, especially since this collaboration has been going on since 2014. It is hoped that it can continue to contribute to Unhas’ international activities and can achieve Unhas’ vision as a World Class University.”
