The Dean of F.Kep (Prof. Ariyanti) accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (Syahrul, Ph.D) and Lecturer of Gerontology Nursing Study Program (A. Masyitha Irwan, Ph.D) visited on (09/08) the Primary Clinic of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Primary Clinic & Long-term Stroke Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia.
The purpose of their visit was to see and learn more about the clinical treatment of outpatient stroke patients at the HCTM Primary Clinic & Long-term Stroke Unit. The Unhas Team will be led by a group of professional health workers who treat stroke patients and will be led by Professor Dr. Noor Azah Abd Aziz. At the HCTN Primary Clinic and Long-term Stroke Unit, the F.Kep Unhas Team will intensively review various programs for stroke patients and their families. In addition, they will also discuss the post-stroke treatment process and the role of individual health professionals.
The relationship between the UKM Faculty of Medicine and FKep Unhas began when Professor Dr. Noor Azah Abd Aziz from UKM and Dr. Andi Masyitha became the supervisors of the Doctoral program of Mr. Yudi Hardianto, a young lecturer in physiotherapy at the Department of Physiotherapy, FKep Unhas who is currently studying at Monash University, Australia. Mr. Yudi Hardianto’s dissertation focused on the development of a community rehabilitation program for post-stroke patients. The model was successfully implemented in Malaysia with the HCTM Primary Clinic & Long-Term Stroke Unit as its pioneer. Before the visit ended, several multinational research programs related to post-stroke care, training programs that will be offered by UKM in November, and the expansion of community services for post-stroke patients managed by Unhas were also discussed.
