The UNHAS Faculty of Nursing (F.Kep) community service team, chaired by the Dean of F.Kep UNHAS, Dr Ariyanti Saleh., M.Si conducted training for hospital clinic nurses. LaPalaloi Maros for 2 days on 8-9 August 2022, this is an effort to increase the capacity of clinical guidance.
In his speech, the Head of Medical & Nursing Services at LaPalaloi Hospital said that RS. LaPalaloi is one of the hospitals that is used as a practice area at the clinical education stage, especially in Nursing courses, where this hospital is a supporting hospital close to Makassar City, so this preceptor training is very supportive of the Hospital program.
There were 31 participants who took part in this training consisting of nurses and other supports spread from various treatment rooms including surgical treatment, ER, ICU, NICU, polyclinic, Radiology Room, and also attended by the Head of Nursing Section and Head of Hospital Support. La Palaloi Maros.
As an introduction to clinical learning concepts, Dr Ariyanti Saleh said that in clinical education students learn to apply theory to the real world of work. Effective clinical education is able to build student confidence and help achieve clinical competence. One of the practical guidance models that can be done to overcome the above is preceptorship guidance. Preceptorship is a learning model in the practice/clinic field that pairs students with experienced practitioners.

The community service team participated in this training, by providing material related to clinical learning methods: bedside teaching, pre & post conference, The One minute’s Preceptorship, nursing rounds and feedback techniques in clinical guidance on the first day. On the second day, participants practised clinical learning methods through role play in groups and were accompanied by Andi Fajrin Permana., S.Kep., Ns., MSc along with the Community Service Team.
