VISIT OF THE DIRECTOR OF IOM : INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF MIGRATION

Hasanuddin University Faculty of Nursing received a visit from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) led by Dr. Nedal Odeh as Senior Migration Health Officer Indonesia. The activity was attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D) and the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation Partnerships (Dr. Takdir Tahir, S.Kep., Ns. , M.Kes) the meeting took place at 10.00 WITA, in the Senate Room of F.Kep-UH, Thursday (25/5).

In the explanation of the IOM Director that Makassar is one of the largest cities that accepts immigration residents under the auspices of IOM, “Makassar is one of the major cities that accepts more than 1,500 refugees under IOM and one of our targets is to work with universities to see how we improve the health standards of refugees. Therefore, we chose Unhas to support the health program for refugees,” explained Dr.Nedal (25/5).

Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (Syahrul, S.Kep.,Ns.,M.Kes.,Ph.D) stated that the Faculty of Nursing and IOM will cooperate in implementing basic health training for refugees, so that it is hoped that this will improve the quality of life for refugees .” explained Syahrul (25/5).

The activity lasted until 11.30 WITA, followed by a discussion for programs to be implemented in the future before carrying out the collaboration process related to health programs (25/05).
