The Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) conducted an academic exchange program with 21 students from the School of Nursing at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The event, held at the Unhas Faculty of Nursing Building, served as a platform to strengthen inter-institutional ties and strengthen international collaboration through the exchange of knowledge, culture, and academic experiences.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University, Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D. In his remarks, he stated that this visit was not simply a place to welcome students from NUS, but also a momentum to build friendships and open up opportunities for broader collaboration in the future.

“We are not only welcoming students, but we are also welcoming the potential exchange of cultures and experiences between Singapore and Indonesia, especially in Makassar. More importantly, we are building new friendships, and I hope you all can have future collaborations,” he said.

He also hopes that the relationship established through this activity can continue to grow through various forms of academic collaboration that are mutually beneficial for both institutions.

“With the expectation to build connections for mutual benefit, we can continue our communication through joint research, teacher exchanges, and student exchanges. This is a very positive activity,” he said

Following the opening ceremony, the event continued with a screening of a profile video of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Nursing to introduce the institution to the NUS delegation. The group then visited Unhas TV and the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Medicine before returning to the Faculty of Nursing for a practical session and discussion.
The discussion focused on the healthcare systems in Indonesia and Singapore. The event then continued with a skills exchange session, providing a platform for students from both institutions to share knowledge, experiences, and skills in the field of nursing.
Through this visit, the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Nursing affirmed its commitment to expanding its international network while also opening opportunities for ongoing collaboration in education, research, and faculty and student exchanges with the National University of Singapore.
