The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, implemented the GESIT Program (Integrated HIV-Free Education Movement)<\/strong> through the Hasanuddin University Community Service Program (PPMU-PK-M)<\/strong> at SMAN 8 Selayar<\/strong>, located in Buki District, Selayar Islands Regency, on June 11\u201312, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity involved approximately 70 students<\/strong> and featured a series of educational sessions, including a pre-test<\/strong>, HIV education lectures, interactive discussions, educational quizzes, supporting group activities, and a post-test<\/strong> to evaluate participants\u2019 understanding of the topics presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Head of the PPMU-PK-M Team, Aulia Insani Latif, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.<\/strong>, emphasized that health education during adolescence is a crucial preventive measure in reducing the risk of HIV transmission. She highlighted that providing accurate information and fostering awareness among young people can help them make informed decisions and adopt healthy behaviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This community engagement initiative also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being<\/strong> and SDG 4: Quality Education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the program, students demonstrated great enthusiasm and actively participated in all sessions. Through the GESIT Program, it is expected that adolescents will be empowered to practice HIV prevention behaviors independently and become agents of positive health promotion within their schools and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
