The Associate Professor of the Faculty of Nursing as well as the Secretary of the Institute for Quality Assurance and Educational Development of Hasanuddin University, Dr. Rini Rachmawaty; was invited by San Pedro College, Davao City, Philippines to serve as the Keynote Speaker at the Madayaw 6.0 International Multidisciplinary Research Conference, on August 16th-17th, 2023; entitled: “Enhancing Internal Quality Assurance on Higher Education to Achieve International Accreditation”. The conference was attended by 687 onsite and 1,700 online participants. In addition to serve as a Keynote Speaker, Dr. Rini also represented the Rector of Hasanuddin University and the Dean of the Faculty Nursing to witness the signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the President of San Pedro College and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) by the Dean of School of Nursing, San Pedro College, Davao City, Philippines. In the MoU and MoA, the two universities are committed to collaborate in the three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community services. Other future collaborations offered by San Pedro College are preparing Unhas nursing students to work abroad by offering lectures English for Nursing Practice and NCLEX preparation for working abroad as the Prometric Testing Center is in Manila. San Pedro College also commits to send visiting Professors for delivering guest lectures for Unhas students. Furthermore, San Pedro College is also willing to accept Health Science students from all degrees to get clinical experiences or benchmarking at San Pedro Hospital (250 beds, aged 75 years). Another commitment is that San Pedro College teaching staff are willing to serve as Reviewers for Unhas International Journals.

During her visit to San Pedro College, Dr. Rini also delivered an international lecture series entitled: “Management Concepts, Theories of Management, and Nursing Management” for 87 of fourth year nursing students at the School of Nursing, San Pedro College. After teaching session, Dr. Rini also shared her research result on parallel session of Madayaw 6.0 International Multidisciplinary Research Conference entitled: “Exploring Patient’s Clinical Outcomes, Hospital Costs, and Satisfaction after the Implementation of Integrated Clinical Pathway-based Nursing Practice Model”. Finally, at the end of her visit in Davao City, Philippines; Dr. Rini was also invited by the Honorary Consul of Austria for Mindanao and Sulu, Dr. Peter Faistauer, to discuss the potential partnership between the Austrian government and Unhas in three main target sectors: Health, Engineering, and Tourism.

All these international activities are certainly very supportive for achieving the Unhas Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), mainly for KPI #3: conducting three pillars of HE activities in foreign universities and KPI #6: partnerships of study programs with other universities, faculties, or study programs in relevant fields.
