F.Kep Unhas again held a Bachelor’s Oath and Professional Oath Taking for Nurses on Thursday, (23/10) in the LPPM Unhas Hall at 09.00 WITA. The activity was attended by the Dean of F.Kep, Prof. Dr. Elly L. Sjattar, S.Kp., M.Kes accompanied by the Vice Deans, Secretary of the DPW PPNI South Sulawesi Province, Dr. H. Ismail, S.Kep., Ns and the Head of Study Program and Clergy.
The activity began with the taking of the Bachelor’s Oath for Nursing for 5 Graduates and Physiotherapy for 10 Graduates, then continued with the Oath taking for 72 Professional Nurses graduates by the Dean. F.Kep, Prof. Dr. Elly L. Sjattar, S.Kp., M.Kes, the series of Oath taking was carried out by the signing of the oath and the pinning of the Professional PIN by Dr. H. Ismail, S.Kep.,Ns.
The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Elly L. Sjattar, S.Kp.,M.Kes., delivered a report of appreciation for the achievements of the 4-year, 11-month Bachelor of Nursing, 3-year, 12-month Physiotherapy, and 11-month Professional Nursing program.
“The undergraduate oath and professional oath-taking process demonstrates students’ readiness to enter the healthcare service sector while upholding the good name of their alma mater, ethics, and manners. Students are expected to continue developing their knowledge in the fields of nursing and physiotherapy,” he explained.
Following remarks, the Secretary of the DPW PPNI South Sulawesi Province, Dr. H. Ismail, S.Kep.,Ns., stated that “the taking of the oath and professional oath is a sacred moment that marks the birth of new professional nurses ready to dedicate themselves to society, the nation, and humanity. Furthermore, this procession demonstrates a responsibility to uphold the dignity of the profession, humanitarian values, and the welfare and safety of patients,” he explained.
The Bachelor’s Pledge and Professional Oath ceremony symbolize the birth of new professionals in the fields of nursing and physiotherapy, ready to dedicate themselves with full responsibility and integrity. Armed with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values acquired during their education, graduates are expected to make a tangible contribution to improving public health and upholding the reputation of their alma mater and the Faculty of Nursing.
