Associate Professor Rini Rachmawaty is currently a faculty member at the Nursing Management Department, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, Indonesia. She was recently appointed as the Secretary of the Institute of Quality Assurance and Educational Development at the Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, Indonesia (July 5th, 2022 – July 5th, 2026). She was the former Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Innovation (February 13, 2018 – January 11, 2022) and the former Vice Dean for Students, Alumni, and Partnerships (February 13, 2018 – August 29, 2019) of the Faculty of Nursing at Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, Indonesia. In 2020, she was awarded The Satyalancana Karya Satya for 10 Years of Services as a Civil Servant by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Regarding her educational background, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing science and professional nurse from the Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Three years later, she, then, continued her study for a Master of Nursing focusing on Nursing Management at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, the University of Technology Sydney, Australia sponsored by the Australian Partnership Scholarship. Finally, in 2010 she received a Fulbright Presidential Scholarship for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program at the School of Nursing, University of Virginia, USA. Currently, she is a member of a prestigious international organization, Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing (Beta Kappa Chapter of the University of Virginia), serving as an assessor of the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health, and the member of the Indonesian National Nurses Association.

From 2015 to 2023, Assoc. Prof. Rachmawaty had secured several fundings as a principal investigator (PI) and as a co-PI for a total amount of IDR 11,245,473,427.00 (AUD 1,133,523.52) focusing on the comparative studies on nursing standards, quality improvement of the health care services, intervention studies on Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU), implementation of interprofessional education and collaboration for enhancement of health care quality, teaching and learning improvement, nursing history study, and secondary data analysis.

Dr. Rachmawaty has published 16 refereed international journals indexed by Scopus and WoS; 9 refereed international journals indexed by CINAHL, DOAJ, & Copernicus; and 44 refereed national journals. She has also published 1 book chapter, 3 reference books, and has been granted copyrights for 24 intellectual properties.
