The Faculty of Kep Unhas held a Textbook Writing Workshop on Wednesday, September 24th, in the Senate Room at 9:00 a.m. WITA. This event is a program of the Vice Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni, in collaboration with the Faculty of Kep’s Publication Management Unit.
The event featured expert speakers in their respective fields, Prof. Ir. Sakti Adji Adisasmita, M.Si., MEng.Sc, Ph.D., and Dr. Alem Febri Sonni, S.Sos., M.Si. The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Kep, Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si., and attended by the Vice Deans and Faculty of Kep lecturers as participants.
Dean of the Faculty of Kep, Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si., stated that this activity encourages lecturers to achieve results as teaching staff. “This activity encourages and motivates lecturers to produce textbooks that add value to their career development and academic development in their respective fields,” she said.
“Furthermore, the resulting impact is that students can use these books as a structured guide in the scientific learning process,” she explained.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, facilitates lecturers’ personal development and supports them in producing structured teaching outputs that can serve as reference guides for students.
Various topics were presented by Prof. Ir. Sakti Adji Adisasmita, M.Si., MEng.Sc., Ph.D. (Concepts and Standards for Writing Textbooks, Monographs, and Chapters, Textbook Compilation Techniques and Publication Strategies), followed by a second session by Dr. Alem Febri Sonni, S.Sos., M.Si. (Textbook publication process and requirements).
The activities continued until Thursday (September 25th) with a discussion session and presentation of the textbook draft for participants.
