Nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University (F.Kep Unhas) conducted the 2025 Student Village Development program with the theme “Healthy Village Movement: Health Education and Regular Check-ups as an Implementation of SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-Being)” in Sokkolia Village, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency, on Friday–Saturday, September 26–27, 2025.
This program is part of Hasanuddin University’s community service program through the Faculty of Nursing, and is fully supported by the Directorate of Student Affairs. The event was attended by faculty advisors from the Faculty of Nursing, Akbar Harisa, S.Kep., Ns., PMNC., MN. and Abdul Majid, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB, along with one faculty member. Also in attendance were the Sokkolia Village Head, representatives from the Bontomarannu Community Health Center, Anlene representatives, and residents of Sokkolia Village.
The event was officially opened on Saturday (September 27th) by Ners Akbar Harisa, an accompanying lecturer representing the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Nursing. The event continued with remarks from the Sokkolia Village Head, remarks from the accompanying lecturer, and a report on the activities by Maqfira, the Committee Chair.
The opening remarks were delivered by Kaharuddin, S.IP., the Sokkolia Village Head, who expressed his gratitude to the students for choosing Sokkolia Village as their foster village. He emphasized that “this activity is very beneficial because health checkups, which are usually expensive, can be obtained free of charge by the community,” he explained.
Akbar Harisa then expressed his appreciation for the support of Hasanuddin University, the Faculty of Nursing, and the Directorate of Student Affairs at Hasanuddin University, as well as the warm welcome from the village government. He explained that “prior to the activity, the implementation team conducted observations in several villages before finally selecting Sokkolia Village as the target location. They then conducted health screenings for follow-up with examinations and education.”
This series of activities included health education delivered by students Sahril Usman and Muh. Afgan Andrian, supported by explanations from accompanying lecturers. The health checks were conducted with the support of six Bontomarannu Community Health Center staff (TB screening and EKG) and in collaboration with Anlene (bone density checks).
Additionally, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid tests were conducted by Nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University. The activity ran smoothly, received full support, and was enthusiastically received by the community. The presence of the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, is expected to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining good health, while also strengthening the synergy between the university, healthcare workers, village government, and the community.
In closing, this activity is a real proof of Hasanuddin University’s commitment through the support of the Hasanuddin University Directorate of Student Affairs in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3: Good Health and Well-Being through education and regular health checks for the people of Sokkolia Village, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency.
