International Guest Lecturer, Physiotherapy Study Program

The Physiotherapy Study Program held an International Guest Lecturer on Tuesday (12/09) at the Unhas Science and Technology Building at 13.00 WITA.

Resource persons for the activity were Elizabeth Lynch, Ph.D., Bphysio (Flinders University, Australia) and Prof. Dr. Noor Azah Abd Aziz (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D), a number of Physiotherapy Lecturers, Undergraduate Students and Physiotherapy Professionals.

In his speech, WD 1 F.Kep said that “Rehabilitation for stroke patients, this topic is very relevant for us in Indonesia, especially in Makassar. However, it is not only the elderly who experience an increase in strokes, but young people will also experience this,” explained Syahrul. The material presented by the resource person is closely related to several situations and lifestyles of Makassar residents who consume foods that can trigger an increase in strokes.

With this activity, lecturers and students can play a more active role in discussions “I believe that this guest lecture is not just about sharing, but can be an effective forum for exchanging ideas, discussions and can enable collaboration in the field of research in the future as well as being a good start for starting cooperation,” concluded Syahrul

The activity continued with a presentation on the topic Recent Evidence on Stroke Physiotherapy by Elizabeth Lynch, Ph.D., Bphysio and Urgency of Stroke Rehabilitation by Prof. Dr. Noor Azah Abd Aziz, guided by moderator Yudi Hardianto, S.Ft., Physio., M.ClinRehab lecturer in Physiotherapy.
