The Nursing Science Student Association (Himika) Faculty of Nursing Unhas held a Himika Dedication (Hi-Cation) at SMA Negeri 11 Maros, Kec. New Maros, Kab. Maros, Friday – Saturday (27-28/10/2023). This activity carried the theme “Actualizing Human Values to Create a Healthy Society in Butta Salewangang” and was attended by nearly 100 people.

This activity presented lecturers from the Faculty of Nursing, namely Dr. Yuliana Syam, S.Kep., Ns., M.Si., Akbar Harisa, S.Kep. NS. PMNC, MN., and Arnis Puspitha S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. This activity is intended as a form of implementing community service contained in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Starting with visiting local residents’ homes as a start in building relationships of mutual trust with local residents as well as informing Hi-Cation activities. Then the second day began with the opening of the activity which was opened by Dr. Yuliana Syam, S.Kep., Ns., M.Sc. Next, education was held regarding family medicinal plants (TOGA) presented by Arnis Puspitha S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. After providing the material, the public was asked to explain again the material that had been presented. Next, TOGA planting was carried out together. After that, the public was directed to an examination stand which contained tests for TB, BB, BP, blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid. After the inspection, the public was directed to the education stand according to the criteria for elderly, adults and KIA. The public was then directed to the medicine administration stand and food demonstration stand. In the middle of the health examination activity, education was also held by Akbar Harisa, S.Kep. NS. PMNC, MN. to the teenage community regarding Sex Education for approximately 30 minutes along with questions and answers.

Hi-Cation is one of the work programs of the Extrad Division of BPH Himika F.Kep-UH. It is hoped that this activity will help the public obtain health information and be able to demonstrate the health education that has been provided.
