The 2025 Global Health Program Online Program was successfully implemented on Thursday, (26/06) with the theme “Telemedicine & ICT in Healthcare”. This activity is the result of a collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University (FKep UNHAS) and the Faculty of Nursing, Yokohama City University (YCU), Japan.
The activity was opened by Prof. Tomoko Akase, Ph.D., R.N., as Dean of the School of Nursing, YCU, and Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D., as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, FKep UNHAS. In their remarks, both of them appreciated this program as an effort to provide opportunities for students to learn from each other, improve their understanding of global health, and get to know the health, education, and cultural systems between Indonesia and Japan.
The event was attended by 15 students from YCU and 20 students from FKep UNHAS, and involved 6 YCU lecturers, 5 FKep UNHAS lecturers, and 2 experts from each university.
During the program, the students discussed various topics, including tourism & culture, health services, student life, and Nursing education in Indonesia and Japan. After that, participants also received materials related to the topics raised this year. The first material was presented by Saldy Yusuf, S.Kep., Ns., MHS., Ph.D. with the topic “Leveraging Digital Technologies for Wound Care Innovation in Nursing Practice”, and the second material was presented by A/Prof. Toshiaki Takahashi, RN, MSN, Ph.D. with the topic “Using Ultrasonography and XR and AI in Nursing Education and Practice: Experience in Japan”.
This program is expected to be a strategic step in strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, as well as inspiring students to understand the importance of cross-country collaboration in dealing with global health.
