The Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, held a Bachelor’s Commencement Ceremony and Brevet Presentation for the Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialist Program on Wednesday, July 16th, at the LPPM Unhas Building at 1:30 PM WITA. The event was attended by the Dean (Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si), the Vice Dean, the Secretary of the Indonesian National Nursing Association (PPNI) (Dr. H. Ismail, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep), the Head of the Undergraduate Study Program, and the Specialization Program for Nursing (SPKMB).
]The Dean began with remarks, stating that “When entering the world of healthcare, whether nursing or physiotherapy, we are not only required to have adequate knowledge and skills, but also to possess a professional attitude, empathy, and high integrity. Healthcare is a calling, requiring us to be fully present for patients, provide holistic care, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes,” explained the Dean.
The Secretary of the Indonesian National Nursing Association (PPNI) Prov. South Sulawesi (Dr. H. Ismail, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep) “The Indonesian Nursing Association (PPNI) expects nursing personnel to focus on developing their skills. PPNI expects all nursing personnel to continuously develop their skills and competencies as a form of professionalism, in order to provide quality, safe, and ethical nursing services in accordance with community needs and advances in science and technology.”
For the first time, a Brevet Award ceremony was held for graduates of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialist Program Batch I. Seven graduates received their brevets at this event, marking their academic and professional achievements in completing the specialist education program.
The SPKMB Program graduates successfully completed the program with an average Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.92 over a study period of 1 year and 6 months. This achievement demonstrates the participants’ high commitment and dedication to the educational process, which demands advanced clinical and academic competencies.
