The Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University (FKep Unhas) successfully hosted an international guest lecture titled “Designing and Evaluating Community-Based Intervention,” held virtually via Zoom on Thursday (October 22). The academic event featured an expert from Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, PhD, MD as the keynote speaker.

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Unhas, Prof. Dr. Elly Lilianty Sjattar, S.Kp., M.Kes. In her address, Prof. Elly emphasized that this guest lecture reflects the faculty’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education and broadening students’ academic horizons by allowing them to learn directly from international experts.
The presentation session, moderated by Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep.Ns., MAN., Ph.D., focused on the topic of “Implementation Strategies & Sustainable Health Outcomes.” The discussion underscored the importance of designing well-planned, community-based interventions to improve the health status of individuals within their living, learning, and working environments, while also highlighting the necessity of active engagement from local stakeholders.
The event drew significant enthusiasm from the academic community, with approximately 200 students from various study programs within the Faculty of Nursing at Unhas in attendance. Through this interactive discussion, it is hoped that students will gain a profound understanding of the entire process from design and implementation to the evaluation of sustainable health interventions within the community.
