Nursing Science Study Program Holds Visiting Lecture at Monash University

On Tuesday (12/09) at 13.00 WITA, the Nursing Science Study Program again held an International Lecture Series, presenting two guest lecturers from Monash University, Australia: Prof. Dominique Cadilhac and Dr. Tara Purvis in the Medical Surgical Nursing course.

Accompanied by the Course Coordinator, Dr. Andina Setyawaty, Sp. Kep.MB, guided by Moderator Andi Baso Tombong, M.ANP and attended by 125 students and lecturers.

Prof. Dominique discussed the topic ‘The Role of Nursing in Stroke Care,’ while Dr. Tara Purvis presented on the topic ‘The Role of the Stroke Coordinator.’ The guest lecture was very interesting, and there was a discussion between the nursing students and the guest professor. Several students were inspired by the presentations of the two guest lecturers, both in terms of concepts and research results which really support improving health services for patients suffering from stroke. One of the important messages that students get is that time is very important in stroke management regarding time, namely ‘Time is Brain, Save One Minute, Save Lives’.

Prof. Dominique Cadhilac is a researcher at Stroke and Aging Research, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health, Clayton Victoria, Australia, and Dr. Tara Purvis is a researcher currently working in the Division of Evaluation and Translational Public Health, Monash University, Victoria, Australia.
