Professor of the Faculty of Medicine’s Speech Emphasizes the Role of ICP in the Quality of Health Services

Prof. Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D., a lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University, was officially inaugurated as a Professor in Nursing Management at a ceremony held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the Academic Senate Room, 2nd Floor, Rectorate Building, Unhas. The ceremony was broadcast live on the Unhas Academic Senate YouTube channel at 8:30 a.m. WITA.
In her inaugural address, Prof. Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D., explained her research on “Integrated Clinical Pathways and the Icare System as Nursing Management Strategies for Improving the Quality of Healthcare Services in Indonesia.”
She outlined the benefits of Integrated Clinical Pathways (ICP) for stakeholders, including ensuring consistency and quality of care for patients, accelerating recovery, and increasing satisfaction with healthcare services. For healthcare workers, it provides systematic guidance that facilitates interprofessional coordination and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Furthermore, the benefits of ICP for hospitals include increased operational efficiency and positive impacts on financial sustainability. The health insurance system also contributes to controlling national healthcare costs without sacrificing service quality.
Prof. Rini concluded her remarks by explaining that consistent implementation of ICP integrated with technology can achieve safer, more effective, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare services.
This inauguration is expected to further strengthen the role of the Faculty of Nursing in developing innovation and research in nursing management, while encouraging the implementation of evidence-based practices in healthcare. This momentum also serves as motivation for healthcare providers to continue contributing to the continuous improvement of service quality.
