Unhas Faculty of Nursing Community Service Team Conducts Psychoeducation and Digital Literacy for Elementary Students in Bulukumba

The Community Service Team from the Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Faculty of Nursing’s Community Partnership Program conducted a psychoeducation and digital literacy session at UPT SDN 5 Appasarenge, Bulukumba Regency, on Thursday (August 6, 2026). The event, titled “G-STAMP (Healthy Gamers Free from Profanity and Bullying),” was attended by the school principal and teachers, and involved 50 students from grades 4, 5, and 6.

Dr. Tuti Seniwati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., the head of the Community Service Team, explained that the program contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3—Good Health and Well-being—by fostering mental health and emotional management skills in children. Additionally, the activity supports SDG 4—Quality Education—by strengthening students’ digital literacy
Through the psychoeducation session, participants gained an understanding of how to use digital technology wisely and responsibly. They were also introduced to the negative impacts of online gaming, including “toxic gaming” behaviors such as the use of inappropriate language, bullying, and disrespectful conduct.
In addition to the educational component, students received training on relaxation techniques to help control their emotions while gaming. These exercises were designed to help students manage their emotions through mindful breathing and a 10-second pause before reacting, enabling them to remain calmer and more composed in their actions.
The Principal of UPT SDN 5 Appasarenge expressed appreciation for the community service initiative carried out by Hasanuddin University. He noted that the program benefits students by enhancing their digital literacy, fostering polite behavior, and developing their ability to manage emotions positively.
