The Hasanuddin University Faculty of Nursing visited Niigata University of Health and Welfare, Japan on (23/11). This visit was divided into 2, the first was a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si with the Chancellor of Niigata University of Health and Welfare, Masatoyo Nishizawa, MD, Ph.D
Also present were (Andi. Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MN.Ph.D) from the International Office of Hasanuddin University and (Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., Ph.D) as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and F.Kep Unhas, Fusayo Kobayashi, RN, PHN, PhD as Director of Global Affairs for Nursing, Hiroshi Sugimoto, RN, PhD and Mayumi Sato, RN, PhD as Nursing Research Team. This activity was continued with a second meeting, namely a research meeting between the research team of Mayumi Sato, RN, PhD and Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., Ph.D who represented the two universities.
The purpose of this visit is to evaluate activities that have been carried out together in 2023 as well as strengthen collaborative activities between the Faculty of Nursing Unhas and Niigata University of Health and Welfare for 2024. In 2023, F.Kep Unhas succeeded in establishing collaboration and welcoming five inbound students from Niigata University of Health and Welfare in a week-long program, and four inbound lecturers in the Visiting Lecturers program.

In addition, a collaborative study was carried out by Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns..M.Kes., Ph.D and Mayumi Sato, RN, PhD. In 2024, both parties agreed to continue cooperation in the field of research that had been carried out previously, in the academic field in the Outbound and Inbound student programs, Visiting Lecturer by Prof. Masayoshi Kubo, Ph.D in Physiotherapy
The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Unhas (Prof Dr Ariyanti Saleh, S. Kp., M.Sc.) also said that he “hopes that this collaboration will last a long time and support Hasanuddin University to meet the criteria for a World Class University, especially in terms of academic reputation indicators,” he said.
With this meeting, the Faculty of Nursing Unhas and Niigata University of Health and Welfare Japan can increase their collaboration in the future “Prof Ariyanti hopes that this can increase faculty collaboration in publications between Nusing Unhas and Niigata University of Health and Welfare Japan,” concluded Prof. Ariyanti.
