F.Kep Unhas held the first Comprehensive Examination of the National Standard Medical Surgical Nursing Specialist Education Program by the Indonesian Nursing College in a hybrid manner on Thursday, (06/02) in the F.Kep Senate Room at 09.00 WITA. The activity was attended by the Dean of F.Kep (Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si), KIA Supervisors (Dr. Takdir Tahir. S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes and Dr. Andina Setyawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep) and Students.
Also present at the event, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Nursing College who also served as the Chair of the Examiner who officially opened the event (Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Nurs (Hons) expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Faculty of Nursing for starting the Comprehensive Exam in the specialist field “The implementation of the Comprehensive Exam to test the clinical abilities of specialists in taking nursing actions, then tested by the Institution and the College.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing (Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si) in his speech said that “This activity is the first time we have implemented it at the Faculty of Nursing, for that activity is our responsibility to stakeholders with graduates who will provide different nursing services, especially in the field of Medical Surgical Nursing Specialists,” he explained.
The purpose of implementing the Comprehensive KIA Specialist KMB Exam is to measure student competence in implementing Evidence-based Nursing Care through clinical practices that have been carried out and become a benchmark in compiling interventions and also applying nursing concepts and abilities in clinical decision making in hospitals.
Head of the KMB Specialist Study Program (Dr. Andina Setyawati, S.Kep.,Ns.,M.Kep) said that as many as 7 students will take the KIA Specialist Comprehensive Exam “Students who take the comprehensive exam have fulfilled the academic stages, namely Clinical Practice, Preparation of Scientific Papers and have fulfilled the administrative stages by the study program. This Comprehensive Exam is a benchmark for student competence in applying nursing concepts,” he explained
The activity also graduated the first batch of Medical Surgical Nursing specialist education. The Collegium Examiners in this Comprehensive Exam are Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Nurs (Hons) (Chair of the Collegium Examiners), Prof. Dr. Christantie Effendi and S.Kep.,Ns.,M.Kes, Dr. Sriyono, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, Fransiska Anita, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, Dr. Yunie Armiyati, S.Kep.,Ns.,M.Kep.Sp.KMB.
