Lecturers and Students of the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University have conducted a community service activity entitled “Education and Training of Bridging Exercise to Improve Micturition Control Skills in the Elderly Group” which is the result of a collaboration between the Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M) Hasanuddin University through the Community Partnership Program (PPMU-PK-M) in 2025 on Thursday (12/6), at the Rappang Health Center, Panca Rijang District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, precisely on Jl. Aspol, Rappang.
The activity is part of the routine agenda of LP2M Hasanuddin University which involves synergy between lecturers and students in providing real contributions to the community, especially in the health sector.
The event was officially opened by the Head of the Rappang Health Center UPT, Ns. H. Basri Sagga, S.Kep., MM. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between educational institutions and health services in order to improve the knowledge and quality of life of the community, especially the elderly. The Head of the Rappang Health Center UPT also expressed his hope that activities like this can continue to be carried out sustainably as a form of cooperation that has a positive impact on improving the quality of life of the community, especially the elderly.
The Head of the Community Service Team, Abdul Majid, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, explained that this activity targets the elderly as a real form of academic dedication to the community.

The delivery of educational materials was delivered directly by a lecturer from the Nursing Study Program, Hasanuddin University, Abdul Majid, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.KMB explained that decreased micturition control function in the elderly is a common condition, but can still be overcome with certain training methods. For this reason, Yery Mustari, S.Ft., Physio., MClinRehab also provided a demonstration of Bridging Exercise training and Kegel exercises that can be applied independently by the elderly to reduce micturition disorders.
The series of activities began with an opening by the Head of UPT Rappang Health Center and the Head of the LP2M Unhas Community Service Team, then continued with a pre-test to measure the initial level of understanding of the participants. The next session was filled with the delivery of material by Abdul Majid and Yery Mustari. The enthusiasm of the 50 participants was clearly visible in the active discussion and question and answer session. After that, a post-test was distributed to evaluate the increase in understanding of the participants after the training. The activity was officially closed in the last session of the community service event by the Rappang Health Center.
