Muh. Gunawan and Nurul Fahmi Bandang, students in the Nursing Profession Program at the Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), completed the Global Basic and Clinical Practice Exchange Program 2025, an international student exchange program organized by Kanazawa University, Japan, from July 13–28, 2025. In addition to Unhas and Kanazawa University students, students from Taiwan also participated in the program.
The program included intensive clinical rotations in various nursing fields held at Kanazawa University Hospital and its affiliated facilities. Students engaged in hands-on learning, field observations, and interdisciplinary discussions. This provided real-world experience and the opportunity to exchange insights with students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
During the program, students also have the opportunity to explore various nursing fields, including: Gerontological Rehabilitation Nursing, Critical Care and Perioperative Nursing, Maternal Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Chronic Care and Hospice Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Dialysis and Chemotherapy, and Community Care Centers.
“We are very grateful to the Faculty of Nursing and Hasanuddin University for their support. We also thank Kanazawa University for this valuable opportunity to develop our clinical skills and broaden our global perspectives,” said Muh. Gunawan.
This program is part of the implementation of the collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, and the School of Health Sciences, Kanazawa University, which has been in place since 2014. In addition to student exchanges, other collaborations include joint research with lecturers and visiting lecturers.
