F.Kep Unhas received a visit from (Dr. Gulzar Malik, RN., BScN., BA., MNsg., PhD., FHEA) Associate Professor & Associate Dean from the International Partnership School of Nursing & Midwifery, La Trobe University, Australia.
Dr. Gulzar Malik’s visit to F.Kep was a form of implementation of cooperation between F.Kep and the School of Nursing & Midwifery, La Trobe University, Australia. The series of visits included a Workshop on Evidence-Based Practice Implementation in Nursing Services specifically for Students and a Qualitative Data Analysis/Mixed Method Workshop to improve research skills for F.Kep Lecturers on Wednesday, (06/11) in the F.Kep Senate Room at 08.00 WITA.
Dr. Gulzar Malik presented a topic related to On a Path to Succes: Endeavoring to Contextualise Curricula within an EBP Framework, A grounded theory Study. The important points related to the topic are 1.) About the importance of integrating study materials on evidence-based practice into the curriculum so that students are more competent and ready to become prospective nurses who use scientific sources as a basis for implementing nursing care for patients, 2.) About the use of grounded theory as a research method will bring many benefits to lecturers, in addition to experiencing the process of developing theories related to the topic being studied, it will also provide greater opportunities for publication opportunities. On the same occasion, Dr. Gulzar provided an opportunity for the seminar to try to formulate research ideas that can utilize grounded theory as a research method. Furthermore, he provided input on research ideas including the objectives and research questions developed by lecturers during the seminar.
